The mothers notice first
Our mothers have been telling us for years, and colleagues around me hear the same from their parents: you can’t understand a word on television any more. They all mumble. And they always just pretend. Are those even actors? We answer: no, often they aren’t actors.
A colleague’s mother once put it like this. If someone walks into a bakery and says he wants to bake bread rolls because he has made part-baked rolls at home, the baker won’t let him into the bakehouse. That would be irresponsible. The master baker has a responsibility towards his customers.
